Dog Socialization Sessions
FOR ADULT DOGS & PUPPIES
ADULT DOG SOCIALIZATION SESSIONS
If your dog missed socialization with other breed puppies, after leaving their littermates, your dog can lose confidence when meeting new dogs as they mature into their adult self.
This lack of dog-to-dog experience and confidence can create an adult dog who is over-excited when just seeing another dog. In turn, this over-excitement builds up frustration for your dog when repeatedly exposed to other dogs.
As trainers, we often get calls asking us to assist with leash-reactive or aggressive dogs. Without the proper education, it is difficult for humans to determine if dogs are desperate to play with each other or feeling stressed and fearful of the other dog.
Our Adult Dog (only) Socialization sessions are the first step to solving this stressful scenario that confounds many dog owners. These sessions are on a drop-in basis and help desensitize your dog to calmly seeing other dogs at a distance. Under the guidance of Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Donna Barrett, CPDT-KA, dog owners will become experts in reading and understanding their own dog’s body language and how to safely manage their dog.
These sessions are offered in a clean, private, fully fenced private canine park. Our goal is to help owners and dog gain confidence and hopefully find your dog his new best canine friend for future play.
This is not a dog-to-dog play session. Our goal to normalize the activity of seeing other dogs with out over-excitement or stress and potentially identify dog play friends for your dog.
Sessions are offered on weekends only, weather-permitting, when the session has four dog participants registered.
