Sammy & Max - Training & Walking Clients

Our family contacted Donna from Polite Pups when we started seeing some troubling behaviour from our one-year old rescue dog, Max. Max was being aggressive with food as well as barking and lunging at other dogs when walking. Walks were very stressful for us all and we stopped walking him altogether.

With Donna’s help through weekly training sessions over a few weeks, our family learned strategies to deal with Max’s aggression around food. Donna taught us how to positively redirect and boost Max’s self-esteem, which in turn boosted our own self-esteem in dealing with Max’s resource-guarding.

Donna provided cards with detailed notes for us to refer to when we were practicing our training during the week. Next, we began walking and leash training. Donna modeled strategies during an hour-long walk, helping us to see things we could do to make our walks more successful. Now we walk our dogs every evening with no problems. It has brought us confidence and peace of mind we never thought possible.

On top of the training sessions earlier in the year, Donna recently started providing daily walks for our pups in September. She texts pictures of each walk with a summary of how the walk went. We highly recommend Donna’s services. She is very supportive when working with families and their canines. Donna has been a blessing to our family.
